i ﬁnally came to the conclusion that hair, for me, was a symbol of strength. It was a symbol of commitment to my power. of connection to my ancestry. of recognizing my natural beauty. that which exists without chemical dyes, or hairspray, or scissors. a symbol of my sovereignty. of my humble desire to feel grounded within my own skin.
My life is different and sometimes it’s scary, and sometimes it’s sad to see things go because I still feel normal inside — so it’s kind of sad to see some of the things change that I wasn’t ready to change but I love acting and I wouldn’t be able to do anything else.
